It is now time for you to start designing a leadership development strategy. For you to do this you will need to utilize your self-discipline. This is going to be one of the most important aspects in your personal leadership development plan as self-discipline will help you realize your dreams and achieve your goals. You will almost certainly be required to sacrifice your time, money and energy in order to reach these desires. Be honest with yourself now…Are you willing to have this dedication? Hold true to the fact however, that if you are willing to give up some of these luxuries short-term, then it will definitely be worth it for you, because you will find yourself living the life of your dreams.
Some key points for your leadership development strategy:
- Accomplish more every day and reach your goal sooner by cutting out time wasters in your day.
- Stick to a task you set for yourself, and do not let yourself get distracted by the less important details
- Shut out the things that take you away from your work so you can focus on your Personal Leadership Development.
- Your body will tell you when something is out of balance, so listen to the signals and treat yourself carefully so you will always be the most productive you can be.
- Consider adding exercise or yoga to your daily routine in order to keep your body and mind in balance with your Leadership Development Strategy.
You should do your very best to fill your mind with positive information to improve your leadership skills. Reading books is a good way of doing this, and engaging in meaningful conversations with people of all types of backgrounds and philosophies is extremely beneficial, especially in corporate leadership development. You will at times be faced with certain levels of negativity in the midst of conversations with negative minded people and the commercialism of television and radio, however if you want to have an efficient Leadership Development Strategy then it is more important to perhaps listen to some joyful, uplifting music instead of flooding your mind with negativity.
What can I do to improve my leadership development strategy?
- Take good care of yourself. Your body will surprise you and help you accomplish some incredible things if you treat it properly, so make sure you are eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of rest and exercise.
- Make space in your life for every area of your time, including work, family, play time and personal time. Scheduling this time in the form of a diary will definitely benefit your leadership development strategy.
- Connect with the spiritual side of yourself. You are living in a world larger than you are, so take a bit of time out during the day to meditate, or spend some time with nature.
So now that you have some tips on designing your leadership development strategy, it is time to go out there and take some action to give yourself the greatest chance of achieving your dreams and filling your desires.
Next week we will be furthering your education and extending your leadership development skills.

Fantastic leadership development strategies. I agree you have to listen to your body as it knows best. I tend to get distracted easily on the computor so this is one area I have to become more disciplined.
Hello Sean and Tegan,
Being a Mum and working night shifts I tend to take on too much in one day to try to get it all done. Now that I have completed a few projects that I wanted finished I am going to be listening more to my body – giving it rest and good food.
I like how you say to take care of your body and then go out their to achieve your dreams and goals. That is the main ingredient ifor Leadership Development Stategy

First of all, great article! It gave seeds to a few ideas that I would like to post here. Teamwork is a dynamic process involving people with complementary backgrounds and skills, share common goals and exercise concentrated effort in assessing, planning, evaluating and executing towards the common goal. However, there are significant difficulties that are common while building group work among individuals. We should consider cultural and personal differences, workplace issues, social differences, education levels and gender differences. Unsolved communication issues, weak commitment from all stakeholders undermine team spirit. We have to also consider factors such as differences in political views. Organizations often fail to design strong policies to govern teamwork programs, so all efforts become obsolete sooner that they can settle to become useful for any organization.
Thanks for your input Jerome, team building is somerhing alot of people take for granted. the truth is, you can never achieve anything great by yourself. Quite right you are, cultural diversity must be considered when team building, or nobody will be able to work together. We would appreciate your ongoing feedback, thanks again. Sean.
